Day 7 started with Potluck Pass. This was an easy pass that leads to the rest of Palisade Basin. After an easy scramble we were at the top enjoying some amazing views.

Our next goal was Knapsack Pass. I had been here earlier in the summer when it was lush, green and filled with mosquitoes, but at this late in the season the foliage was mostly brown.

Dan took Bishop Pass out to his car at the South Lake trailhead and eventually back to Pittsburgh. He was a great hiking partner and it felt a little strange at first to be hiking solo after being with a hiking partner for eight days.

I camped at a familiar spot in upper LeConte Canyon. I met a group of guys who were base camped at Little Pete Meadow who were just returning from a day hike to Muir Pass. They seemed really clean and it was then I realized how dirty I was. After a week of mostly cross country scrambling (and no shower) my legs were covered in dust and grime. Good times.

Candy and I had camped at this same spot a few months earlier. It felt a little like home.
